Residential Chicago Moving (Household)
Golden Eagle is the only company for your local household moving needs. We are committed to providing fast and reliable service to all of our customers as we have for 40 years.
Residential / Household Moving Rates
Local moves within the city are charged by the hour. The hourly charge depends on the crew size and the number of trucks. We have a minimum charge of 3.5 hours, including a half hour travel time.
The hourly rate begins when our crew arrives at your pick-up address and the clock stops when the move is completed at your new residence. There is no additional charge for extra pick-ups or deliveries during your move.
Included in your move price
Insurance
Without additional charges, there is a default coverage of 30 cents per pound per article included in your move. This is the State of Illinois mandated coverage. Under this coverage each item is insured based on weight only.
Equipment/Tape/Wardrobes
The equipment such as dollies, pads, and other tools, along with the tape used to wrap your furniture is provided at no additional cost.
Each truck is equipped with 3 wardrobe boxes to be utilized by our crew during your move. If you feel you may need more wardrobes for your move please notify our office prior to your move date.
Extra Charges
There will be an extra charge if your move contains any of the following:
- Piano
- Safe
- Pool table
- Non-traditional household items.
- Items requiring hoisting/rigging
Labor Only Moves
We provide loading and unloading service for clients that have their own rental truck or rental container as well as labor for customers moving within the same building, thus not needing the use of our truck.
These moves are charged at an hourly rate with a set minimum charge. The same insurance coverage applies and the equipment used for your move is included in the price.
